Founded in 1978 by the Dalzells, Smoky Hills Farm was named after our first horse, Triton Smoky Hills, a Morgan from the Red Fox Stables in California.
Over the years, we raised many fine Morgan horses, some from other stallions, most from our own, Astarté Alliance.
We showed many of our horses and "Lance" was our top performer until his death in 2011.
In addition to the show circuit, we bred Morgans and boarded all breeds at our place in California. When we moved to Oregon in 2004, the business was dissolved and we only had our 3 remaining horses: Lance, his sister Astarté Souvenir (Sassy), and his last son, Astarté Reliance (Riley). Sassy passed in 2011 just 2 months before Lance.
Riley remains with us today in Idaho, living the life of Riley at the young age of 23 (as of 2024).
We've kept some of our photos of our various horses on this website for your enjoyment as we are trying to live the life of Riley also.
